Here's a pic of a hedgehog that found her way into our front yard last November.

Hi everyone

Well everything is going pretty good. I'm starting to feel that "single mom" feeling again but atleast I can look forward to getting back to the states soon. It's late and I'm about to go to bed but I have to do my most dreaded duty of the day.....taking the dogs out after dark, late at night-on the edge of the wood-line in my back yard with no lighting. The worst part is that we have these cute hedgehogs that are nocturnal and I have to scan the entire back yard-porch and stair area for them because if the dogs smell one or stumble upon one they will try to kill it (I think). and drag me with them until they catch it (they don't run they ball up) so off to the darkness.....Well I only have to do this for one more week or so then I will be trying to catch a hop out on the first before John arrives back in Germany-then he can catch the next one on the 5th when his official leave starts.....goodnight all

Well I don't have any new pics (John took the camera with him to Italy today) and I forgot to download my pics before he took it. Oh well, counting down till we arrive in the states we hope to be in CT by the 7th of August. Kelly-we wanna go to Hampton Beach--Could you convince Rob and see if you guys have a couple of days to go to the beach??? Maybe we can convince Leon to drive down for one of the days to see alot of his grandkids playing in the sand hmmmm???? anyway Evan and I are just hanging out counting down the days till Daddy gets home and we fly out to AMERICA! Evan is basically mobile! If you leave him on the floor with his toys-give him 30 seconds before he is on his way to a dog toy, chair, to the kitchen table or a pair of shoes.... I think he is permanently attached to my hip but he does play by himself pretty good (thank goodness) No doggie fights between the Almighty Bandit and big doofy Bruno--which is nice and I got Bruno on a real collar now-no more pinch collar--I hated that thing but I still might need it for the long walks where other dogs approach so we'll see....

Cool little side trip

Glad it is summer time and not winter...this sign must be important, it was in German and English....I think we'll stick to this season for hiking in this area....

Last sunday John and I decided to go out for a little ice cream after dinner and at the last second John suggested we drive up the mountain to the highest point in our greater area after we filled our bellies with all those calories...so we see the hiking trails and just thought we would check it out. We found some pretty cool stuff and stumbled upon an awesome view. We went up just to see the tower and then ended up on a trail that opened up--it was so cool. Can you tell how much sunlight is still left???and it was 8:30 at night! We get so much sun in the summer time.

Boston Red Sox Baby

a little shot-out to Rob and Kelly--thanks for the Boston Red Sox gear, I love putting these jammies on him.

Vocal talent--Keisha

I just played this cut from the computer so everyone could get just a taste of Keisha. She's insanely good. The CD will not be ready for a couple of months but I can't wait.

I'm really bummed...

John and I had to decide today if I was going to Italy with him on his 10 day TDY assignment. We decided against me going because I had to be available for my new job for some in-processing junk (I would have cut it close-timing wise to finish before my classes start) and the financial aspect-the gas and boarding Bruno and Bandit is very expensive and we need that mula for the states in aug were going to see the girls in CT and try to get a little time in when we stop into MD so now I'm bummed on missing out on this really cool Italy trip to spend some time with John and a couple of the other band families are going on this trip which would have made it very cool and very fun. But I had to make the responsible decision not the fun decision....anyway our internet service has been a little flaky lately but it's up and running at the moment. I was looking at old pics on the computer last night and ran across pics and video clips of the weim puppies since I was looking for Belle pics-I miss my dog very much and am excited about seeing her in a few weeks. But the puppy pics are just sooooo cute I will probably end up putting some up to share cuz there just tooooooo adorable NOT to share.....

A Birthday shout-out

Happy Birthday Jessica!!!!!
Some of the things I've heard about darling Jess over the years....
Jess was an early talker and around her first birthday was using please and thank you. She used to love to put her tiny little hands up shirt sleeves of whoever was holding her. You used to have this counting game called the baby that eats the cherries, you had this dress, "the yellow dress" and wanted to wear it everyday. We have these old pics of you-you were so adorable, little round face, freckles and blonde pig tales. Your favorite movie was Wizard of Oz and you would watch the whole thing and then immediately rewind to watch it over again if no one stopped you. Your 3 year old arch rival was a girl named Calie. Latly, your Dad told me how you would order at Burger King or McDonalds..."I'll have burger, fries, juice (...burgerfriesjuice-all one word), and a napkin, and a straw, and a top for the juice" . Your daddy can't believe you are now 15, it just went by too fast.....
Jess-I hope your birthday party goes well and we'll talk to ya very soon
Love Daddy and Jamie

Boppy Pillow Support

He's doing pretty good with the boppy pillow, sometimes I wish I could take care of my BABY forever....does he have to grow up????

Special Barefoot hike

So this is what John, Evan and I did on Sunday. We went to Bad Sobernheim. To a Barfusspfad....a two mile hike that you are barefoot through....mulch, water, mud, obstacles, river crossings, sand, stones/rocks, wooden bridges, grass and a rope suspension bridge at the end. It was pretty fun with beautiful views. I did it all with a baby strapped to my chest.

Could Evan get any cuter??????

So he's got just a few of these long baby hairs left on top and I couldn't resist giving him a little sprout on top and taking a pic for when he's a teenager and I can embarass the crap out of him.

Getting to be a real band groupie....

Well I got a chance to go with John on a TDY assignment to Bratislava, Slavakia for about 4 days and we had an awesome time. They had a little time off there (only two gigs) and we were taken on a few small tours and got to see the sights. We got a chance to go to this castle. I had Evan strapped to me and the amount of stairs and hills were insane, I really got my work-out that day

He is just soooo cute. The joke is that we never go anywhere without people constantly stopping us to smile and tell us how adorable he is and you don't need to speak the language to have a conversation about a cute baby

"Touch N' Go" Brian, Paul, Geoff, Mark, Ron then Courtney and John (This was Brian's last gig with the band he's headed back to the states.... We'll miss ya BK)

a funny group shot.....

This is a shot from a cafe where Evan and I were taking a break from sight-seeing. It's the hotel Danube where we stayed. It was really nice.

This is a shot from a memorial located up the hill from the Ambassador's house. It's a memorial for the soviet soldiers who liberated the city of Bratislava. It was a spectacular view from up there.

The Band was invited to the Ambassador's house for a small cook-out and I was able to go too. It was a good experience.

Across the river where John's first gig was looking out at our hotel. And a castle from afar. I am so glad I could tag along on this trip and the plane fare was reasonable and Erin watched Bruno and Bandit for us. Thanks Erin you are a life saver on July 4th weekend! ok now we've got Italy comming up next in a few weeks, Evan really is getting to be a world traveler
